Fran Tepper, Executive Director

The Monroe County Fair and Recreation Association is an independent 501 c3 nonprofit organization which began in 1823 as the Monroe Agricultural Society. Since day one our mission has been the same....

"to build community through the advancement, affirmation and support of youth, agriculture and technology culminating in the annual celebration of the Monroe County Fair."

This year's fair is July 15-19, 2009, please join us.

Please feel free to learn more about our Fair History.

Jerry Farrell, President. Monroe County Fair & Recreation Association

The MCFRA moved to its present location, the Monroe County fairgrounds, Henrietta, NY, in 1947. The fairgrounds experienced it's first major upgrade with the building of The Dome Arena and Minett Hall in 1972. Since that time, more than six million people have attended and enjoyed the Monroe County Fair and the myriad of muti-purpose events that are held on the fairgrounds each year.

The economic impact to the community has been substantial, the memories are irreplaceable, and we continue to evolve!

Paved parking, new floors, new roofs, and whole new buidlings are appearing on the newly configured grounds, and our updated interior and exterior designs are energizing the community as well as our board of directors and staff.

As we approach the end of phase one of the rebirth of the Fair, we are looking forward to phases two and three. I invite you to join me and the members of the Monroe County Fair and Recreation Association as we work to achieve our vision of a community center in which the community can be proud and further the Association's mission : "To build community through the advancement, affirmation and support of youth. agriculture and technology culminating in the annual celebration of the Monroe County Fair."
