Joan H. Baden, Flower and Vegetable Show Judge
Joan is a lecturer and teacher with Federated Garden Clubs. She is a former District Director and former President of Federated Garden Clubs of NYS, and past regional director of the Central Atlantic Region. She serves on local, state and regional boards. She is a landscape design and gardening consultant and a consulting Rosarian for the American Rose Society. Joan is a National Garden Club Master Judge Emeritus and an American Rose Society judge in horticulture and design.
Dorothy Dailey, Flower and Vegetable Show Judge
Dorothy has been a active member of Oatka Garden Club since 1962, currently in her 45th year. She has served on the Executive Board of the Seventh District for 10 years, is a Past District Director and remains a board member. She went though National Garden Clubs Flower Show School, became an Accredited Judge in 1993 and a Master Judge in 2004.
Mary Haynes, Flower and Vegetable Show Judge
Mary Haynes is an accredited judge with The Gardeners of America/Men's Garden Clubs of America and has been judging for over six years. Mary was the first female member to hold the office of President in 1999 of the Men's Garden Club of Syracuse and was awarded their Master Gardener Award in 2004. Mary is also a past Chairman of the Cut Flower Show at the New York State Fair. Mary has enjoyed over 30 years of gardening experience with annual, perennial and vegetable gardens.
Toni Howe, Flower and Vegetable Show Judge
Toni became an accredited judge of Natioal Garden Clubs, Inc in 2005. She has been a member of the Country Gardeners Garden Club for 18 years serving in various positions. Toni is presently on the executive board of the Seventh District Federated Garden Clubs as Assistant Treasurer.
Bets Knudson, Flower and Vegetable Show Judge
Bets Knudson has been a member of Iroquois Garden Club since 1952. She is a Master Judge and a past director of Seventh District Federated Garden Clubs of NYS. She continues to be active on the board of directors.
Pat Myers, Flower and Vegetable Show Judge
Pat started studying to become a National Garden Club Judge in 1990. She completed the schools in 2001 and is now a Master Flower Show Judge. She is an active member of the 7th District Judges Council in the N.Y.S. Federated Garden Clubs and has judged many Standard Flower Shows in the district. Pat organized the "Weather or Not Garden Club" in 1960 in Irondequoit and is the only charter member still active.
Meg Dalton, Hosta Show Judge
Meg has been growing hostas for 10 years. She and her husband, Jim, started hybridizing hostas 5 years ago. She is a member of the American Hosta Society, Upstate New York Hosta Society and the Tri-State Hosta Society. She took her first judging clinic and knew judging was for her! Meg is now a Senior Judge of the American Hosta Society.
George Donsky, Hosta Show Judge
George is a lifelong gardener of flowers, vegetables and fruit trees, and started planting hostas in 1989. He has grown hostas from seed and hybridized them since 1999. George completed the American Hosta Society judges programs and continues his education as an AHS Accredited Hosta Judge. He is now in his second year of judging hosta events, both cut leaf shows and and container plants for the First Look seedling and sport competition.
Kent Terpening, Hosta Show Judge
Kent is a internationally recognized hosta hybridizer and Senior Judge with the American Hosta Society. He is currently the president of the Upstate NY Hosta Society and is involved with many plant societies throughout the northeast. He lectures frequently about hostas and hybridizing.
Carolyn Schaffner, Hosta Show Judge
Carolyn has been a member of the American Hosta Society since 1996 when the Western New York Hosta Society was formed. She has been president of WNYHS and Recording Secretary for the American Hosta Society. She is currently Director of Region 4, the Great Lakes Region of AHS, which offers

each March. Carolyn is an AHS Master Judge, and has judged the Genesee Valley Society Hosta Show at the Monroe County Fair for the past four years.
