The Monroe County Fair is an affordable American family tradition that teaches kids about agriculture and technology in a fun-filled setting. It is scheduled for July 15-19, 2009. The Monroe County Fair Association has launched a fundraising campaign called, Buy a Kid a Giggle, designed to raise money for the 183rd Monroe County Fair. Said Executive Director Fran Tepper, “The fair costs around $225,000 to produce. With the struggling economy, sponsorships and donations are uncertain and expenses are rising. The Fair Association wants to keep the fair affordable for everyone and has to find a new way to raise funds. Paying a buck to insure that kids have an opportunity for a good giggle is a pretty great investment.”
The campaign, reminds everyone that the fair can bring “Giggles” to so many. Every dollar helps to make that happen. Anyone can “buy” as many “Giggles” as he chooses, but even one “Giggle” helps. “Buy Giggles” either on-line at www.mcfair.com or stop at the Fair Office or any of the events held at the Fair and Expo Center to make a tax deductible donation.
And keep those “Giggle Bucks” coming. We want “Giggles” to be heard all across the state!
