Space Education Center
The New Frontier Society a chapter of the
 National Space Society have organized the
Space Education Center to bring you
interesting and educational fun with space.
This year we will have an Apollo Space Suit,
a real Moon rock, a large Shuttle model. You
will spin like crazy in the Multi-Axis Trainer to
feel what it's like to tumble in a spacecraft.
Computer simulations will take you into and
around the Space Station and across
the surface of Mars.
MARS, the Monroe Astronautical Rocket Society, will show an extensive
exhibit of model rockets and larger real rockets. There
will rocket launches each evening.
Space T-shirts and space posters will be available.
The Orbital Theater will blast you into orbit and beyond with space videos
running continuously. (A good place to rest your tired feet.)
Additional exhibits include the Terra Satellite exhibit, New Age of
Exploration exhibit, Preserving our Planet exhibit, Space Tech/Health
Benefits exhibit, Landsat-7 Satellite exhibit, Mars Colonization
Exhibit. We will look the history of frontiers from the American pioneers
to the soon to be colonies in space, on the Moon and Mars, Space Hotels,
Cities in Space and Space Vacations as well the Astronauts of New York State.

Commitment to Education
Because our primary mission is educational, the Monroe County Fair and Recreation Association is an educational non-profit corporation. Our mission is to provide an exciting educational event in a fun environment that's safe for the entire community. We are evolving just like the Rochester Community's economy has evolved over it's history. Our society was agricultural when the Fair first stared years ago. Hence our historical foundation is agricultural. While every home benefits from agriculture, today, nine out of ten homes in the Rochester area are no longer agriculturally based. Rochester has grown through the Industrial Age and is now emerging in the Information Age of the next millennium. We feel NASA and the Space Society exhibits are a reflection of this change and are proud to bring it to Rochester! |
